The Green Homes Grant which is set to launch in September 2020 was introduced in July 2020 by chancellor Rishi Sunak to help homeowners in England make their homes more energy efficient. Both Home owners and Landlords will be eligible. Mr Sunak confirmed that up to 650,000 homes will be covered by the grant.
Under the scheme the government will pay at least 2 thirds of the cost of home improvements that save energy, up to £5000. Homeowners that live in low in low income households or in receipt of certain benefits can access up to £10,000 without having to make a contribution.
